To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, the applicant must be an international secondary school student nominated by their school with a study permit looking to commence studies in the following academic year.

University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) is open to all students regardless of their citizenship and students in all fields of study of graduate studies are eligible to apply, provided their program is eligible for tri-council funding. The value of the fellowship is CAD 18,000 for Ph.D. and CAD 14,000 for Masters for a period of one year.
