CAVILAM – Alliance française is a private institute of higher education that provides knowledge of French language and an understanding of French society. The institute was established in 1964 by the municipality of Vichy and the universities of Clermont-Ferrand. It joined the international network of the Alliance française in the year 2012, thus, becoming CAVILAM – Alliance française. Situated at the foot of Parc des Célestins on the banks of the Allier river, CAVILAM - Alliance française offers intensive immersion-based French language teaching for adults, training programmes for teachers, summer courses for children, preparation for official tests and certifications in French proficiency (DELF/DALF, TCF, etc.), and several other courses throughout the year. At the end of the course, students get a certificate of attendance and a certificate of proficiency which is jointly signed by CAVILAM - Alliance française and Clermont Auvergne University.
CAVILAM – Alliance française partners with France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Institut Français, the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, French cultural services abroad and several media outlets on a regular basis.
