Chief Minister's Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, Telangana 2024 is an initiative of the Minority Development Department, Government of Telangana, to support students belonging to minority communities who wish to pursue postgraduate (PG) and doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees abroad. Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to 500 selected students. Selected candidates will receive ₹10,00,000 in two instalments and other benefits.

The Minority Development Department, Government of Telangana is offering this scholarship.
Who can apply for this scholarship ?
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a domicile of Telangana
- belong to a minority community as notified by the Government of Telangana
- be below 30 years of age as of July 1st of the application year
- plan to pursue a postgraduate (PG) or doctoral (Ph.D.) program in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, or Singapore
- have secured at least 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination
- have a total annual family income from all sources of less than ₹5,00,000
Note:-
- Employed applicants must submit a salary certificate from their current employer.
- Income certificates can be obtained through Mee Seva.
- Only one child per family is eligible to apply for the scholarship.
What are the benefits ?
The scholarship will be disbursed in two installments of ₹5,00,000 each. The first installment will be paid upon submission of proof of arrival (landing permit or I-94 Card), and the second installment will be paid upon successful completion of the first semester, shown by official results.
Selected awardees will receive a sanction letter stating the total approved amount of ₹10,00,000 for tuition fees and living expenses. This letter can be used to obtain a visa from the relevant embassy.
Awardees are eligible to apply for an additional education loan of ₹5,00,000 from any nationalized bank at prevailing interest rates.
Awardees are permitted to supplement their scholarship with income earned through research or teaching assistantships.
How can you apply ?
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Overseas Scholarship Services' tab.
Step 4: Scroll down and click on the 'Registration' tab under the 'Chief Minister's Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities' section.
Step 5: Fill in the required details, and attach the required documents to the application form.
Step 5: Click on the 'Submit' button.
What are the documents required for the Chief Minister's Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, Telangana 2024?
- Caste certificate from Mee Seva
- Income certificate from Mee Seva
- Date of Birth certificate
- Aadhaar card
- E-pass ID number
- Resident/domicile certificate
- Passport copy
- Marksheet from SSC/Inter/Graduate/PG level
- GRE/GMAT or equivalent qualifying exam/test scorecard
- TOFEL/IELTS scorecard
- Admission offer letter from a foreign university (I-20, letter of admission or equivalent)
- Copy of the latest tax assessment
- Copy of bank passbook of Nationalised Bank
- A scanned photograph of the applicant
What are the selection criteria ?
The selection will be done by a state-level screening committee constituted by the Government.
What are the important dates ?
Application Deadline: 31st December 2025
Terms and Conditions
- 33% of scholarships will be reserved for women candidates.
- If there are not enough qualified female applicants, the remaining scholarships will be open to male candidates.
- Applications must be complete in all aspects and include all required documents. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Applicants are responsible for securing admission to a recognized university/institute abroad.
- Scholarship recipients cannot change their course of study or research after receiving the award.
- Selected awardees must join the university within one year of receiving notification. Awards will be automatically canceled if awardees do not join within this timeframe. Extensions are not permitted under the scheme.
- It is the responsibility of the awardee to obtain the appropriate visa for their chosen country of study.
