CIFAR Global Scholars Program 2026-28

The CIFAR Global Scholars Program 2026-28  is an opportunity provided by the CIFAR (Canadian Institute for Advanced Research) with the support of the Azrieli Foundation to PhD holders with a full-time position at an educational or research institution. This scholarship aims to support early career researchers with a support of CAD 100,000 (₹63,59,760).

The CIFAR (Canadian Institute for Advanced Research) with the support of the Azrieli Foundation is offering this opportunity.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• hold a PhD (or equivalent) degree
• hold a full-time position at an institution of higher education or research that includes responsibility for leading independent research as a principal investigator and supervising or teaching trainees toward their degree
• have started the first post-PhD position (as described above) no earlier than July 1, 2021 and no later than December 31, 2025
• engage in research that complements the themes and goals of a recruiting CIFAR research program
• be fluent in spoken and written English

The selected scholars shall receive: 

• Research support of CAD 100,000 (₹63,59,760 approx.)
• Travel costs associated with attending CIFAR meetings
• Opportunity to apply for CIFAR seed funds
• Membership in the CIFAR Global Scholars network
• Targeted training in research leadership, mentorship, communication, and advocacy
