    What is Commonwealth Master's Scholarship 2025, UK?

    Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India is offering the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship 2025, UK for students willing to pursue full-time Master’s degree courses commencing from September/October 2025 at a UK University. The scholarship aims to enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, thus supporting their academic journey. The selected candidates will receive a monthly living allowance of up to GBP 1,652 and other benefits.

    These scholarships are offered under six themes:

    Who is offering this scholarship ?

    Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India is offering this opportunity.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:-

    • be a citizen or permanent resident of India
    • be available to start their academic studies in the UK by September 2025
    • not be able to afford to study in the UK without a scholarship
    • hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours, or a second class degree (2:2), and a relevant postgraduate qualification by September 2025

    Note:

    • Students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must have an annual family income less than or equal to ₹4,50,000.
    • Scholarships are tenable at any approved UK university or higher education institution with which the CSC has a part-funding agreement for a specific programme of study. The full list is available at: 'cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk/uk-universities'.
    • Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/training/ specialization either on scholarships or on their own, for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years as of 10th September 2024 after returning from abroad.

    What are the benefits ?

    The selected candidates will receive:-

    • Full tuition fees
    • A stipend (living allowance) of up to GBP 1,652 per month
    • Round trip airfare
    • Warm clothing allowance (if applicable)
    • Study travel grant
    • Child allowances for widowed, divorced, or single parents (GBP 576.61 per month for the first child, and GBP 143 per month for the second and third child under 16 years)

    Note:- If a candidate shares that they have a disability, a full assessment of their needs and eligibility for additional financial support will be offered by the CSC.

    Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
    Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
    Step 3: Click 'Register' and fill in the required details to register on the Sakshat scholarship portal.
    Step 4: After successful registration, click on the 'Online Application Form' for the Commonwealth Scholarship.
    Step 5: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

    What are the documents required for the Commonwealth Master's Scholarship 2025, UK?

    • Admission letter/proof in a UK university
    • A valid passport
    • A copy of the CSC OAS application form (PDF format)
    • Academic transcripts of all higher education qualifications
    • A minimum of two reference letters

    Note:-

    • Academic transcripts must be translated into English if not in English.
    • The reference letters should be in PDF format, signed and on institutional letterhead or an email clearly showing the sender’s details.

    • Quality of the plan of study
    • The potential impact on the development of the candidate's home country

    Terms and Conditions

    • Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
    • The scholarship is not available for pursuing an MBA.
    • The scholarship is available for completing a single degree.
    • The IELTS test is not required for this scholarship.
    • Candidates must submit a health and disability form before the confirmation of the scholarship.
    • The Ministry of Education does not have any role in the selection
      of candidates by CSC.
    • If a candidate requires a Student visa to come to the UK to study, they must meet all relevant immigration requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration.
    • Candidates who are currently employed must have assurance from their organisation for sufficient leave required to complete their studies in the UK.
    • A Commonwealth scholarship covers fees, approved fares, and personal maintenance. Other scholarships, bursaries or awards that cover the same costs may not be held by the scholars concurrently. 
    • The applicants must regularly check the Ministry of Education website for further announcements.
    • Applicant’s personal information will be used to conduct necessary due diligence checks to CSC’s satisfaction before CSC proceeds with any type of formal agreement or contractual relationship. If a candidate does not agree to personal data being used to conduct due diligence, unfortunately, CSC will not be able to proceed further with the application process.
    • The scholarship is applicable only for full-time study. No other course can be undertaken during the tenure. For any employment, the candidate must seek approval from CSC first.
    • The CSC will make the final decision on the institution of study and reserves the right to overrule any such preferences indicated by the applicant.
    • The scholarship can be terminated at any time for reasons of unsatisfactory conduct, progress, or attendance, or if registration is suspended or terminated by the university for any reason.
    • All conditions of the scholarship are subject to UK local law and practices and are subject to change by the CSC.
