CSIR-HRDG Direct Senior Research Fellowship 2023

CSIR-HRDG Direct Senior Research Fellowship 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Human Resource Development Group of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi to bachelor’s and master’s degree holders in various fields of Science and Technology. In this fellowship, the applicants will be trained under the expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in universities and have access to different institutes and laboratories of various government departments. A monthly stipend of INR 35,000 and other benefits will be provided to the selected applicants during the entire tenure of the fellowship.

The Human Resource Development Group of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, is offering the fellowship.

To be eligible, an applicant must -

• be a maximum of 32 years of age as on the last date of application
• have a BE/B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks
• have one publication in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal 
• have completed at least two years of post-MSc/BE/B. Tech research experience OR
• have an M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks OR
• have a BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree with at least 60% marks
• have two years of research experience as of the last date of application

OR

• have an MBBS/BDS or equivalent with at least 60% marks
• have a one-year internship

OR

• have a BPharm/BVSc/BSc(Ag) or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks
• have one publication in SCI Journal 
• have completed at least three years of research experience

OR

• have an MPharm/MVSc/MSc(Ag)/MPhil or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks
• have one publication in SCI Journal
• have at least one year of research experience

Note - 

• Those who have been awarded a PhD/MD/MS/MDS degree or have submitted their thesis for the award of PhD/MD/MS/MDS degrees are not eligible for the position of SRF.
• Those who are eligible for RA will not be considered for SRF.
• The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/Physically handicapped and women candidates and 3 years in case of OBC (non-creamy layer) applicants.

The selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of INR 35,000, a House Rent Allowance (HRA) and a contingency grant of INR 20,000 per annum.

Note -

• All the above-mentioned documents must be converted into PDF format and the file size should be less than 1 MB.
• The photo should be in JPEG/JPG format with light background and dimensions 130x160 to 260x320. The file size should be less than 150 KB.
• The signature should be in the same format with dimensions 90x25 to 225x100.

Selection of the shortlisted candidates will be made through interviews based on their academic records, experience and assessment of research work already carried out and published by them. The selection will be done by discipline-wise high-level expert committees.

• Candidates need to apply online as no other mode of application will be accepted.
• The award is for a fixed tenure and does not imply any assurance or guarantee for subsequent employment by CSIR to the beneficiary.
• A candidate can apply in only one subject code.
• Applicants who have already applied thrice and haven’t received a call or were not selected should not apply again. 
• Misrepresentation or hiding of facts shall lead to disqualification.
• The research supervisor should not be the blood relative.
• Merely fulfilling the essential qualifications will not entitle a candidate for being called for an interview.
• CSIR reserves the right to call or not to call a candidate for an interview.
• Every effort is made by CSIR to have committees with wide-ranging expertise, however, complaints of rejection on this account will not be entertained by CSIR. 
• Decision of CSIR on all matters including calling for interview, selection, recommendation and placement etc. shall be final. No correspondence in the matter will be entertained.
• Research supervisor should not be the blood relative. 
• Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. No interim enquiries will be attended to.
• The fellowships are tenable in all the universities and deemed universities/IITs/postgraduate colleges/government research establishments including those of CSIR research and development establishments and other institutions.
• As it is a full-time commitment, fellows are not allowed to take up any other remunerative jobs/assignments during their tenure.
