    What is Global Korea Scholarship Program 2022?

    Global Korea Scholarship Program 2022 is an opportunity offered to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree holders. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to international students who want to pursue higher studies in undergraduate and graduate programmes at the institutions of the Republic of Korea. The selected candidates will receive variable awards.

    Ministry of Education, Government of Korea is offering this scholarship.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must - 

    • Not hold Korean citizenship
    • Be below 25 years at the date of joining (Undergraduate degree holders)
    • Be under 40 years of age at the date of joining (Graduate degree holders)
    • Have secured 80% or more marks from the last attended educational institution [CGPA: 2.64/4.0 or 2.80/4.3 or 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0]
    • Be in good physical and mental health
    • Have a minimum of 16 and 18 years of formal education to apply for PG and PhD courses

    What are the benefits ?

    The selected fellow will receive the following benefits - 

    • Fully-funded scholarship
    • Resettlement Allowance of KRW* 200,000
    • Living Allowance of 900,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW
    • Language Courses costing KRW 800,000 per quarter
    • Medical Insurance of KRW 20,000 per month

    *KRW - South Korean Won

    What are the documents required for the Global Korea Scholarship Program 2022?

    • Class 10 and 12’s mark sheets and certificates
    • Transcripts of applicants (higher qualifications)
    • Bachelors/Masters/Doctoral degree or equivalent
    • GKS scholarship application form
    • Personal statement 
    • GKS application agreement
    • Study Plan or Research proposal
    • 2 letters of recommendation
    • GKS application agreement
    • Personal medical assessment
    • Applicant's proof of citizenship document
    • Applicant's parent's proof of citizenship document
    • Proof of Korean war veteran's descendants (only for Korean war veteran's descendants)
    • Proof of overseas Korean document (only for overseas Korean)
    • Certificate of valid TOPIK score (optional)

    Terms and Conditions

    • NIIED evaluates potential candidates and notifies the Korean Embassy of the final selected KGSP grantees.
    • NIIED invites the Korean Embassy in the invited country or a domestic university to recommend potential candidates.
