    What is Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship Program 2026-27?

    The Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship Program 2026-27 is an opportunity provided by the Harvard Radcliffe Institute to experts from specified disciplines. It aims to support the innovative work of these talented individuals that confronts pressing social and policy issues.  The selected students will receive a Fellowship up to $83,000 (approx. ₹72,61,700) and other benefits.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:-

    For humanities and social sciences:

    • Have received their doctorate (or appropriate terminal degree) in the area of their proposed project at least four years prior to their appointment as a fellow i.e. December 2022 for the 2026-27 fellowship year (Note:- Appropriate terminal degrees include PhD, MD, and JD)
    • Have published a monograph or at least two articles in refereed journals or edited collections.

    For science, engineering, and mathematics:

    • Have received their doctorate in the area of the proposed project at least four years prior to their appointment as a fellow i.e. December 2022 for the 2026-27 fellowship year.
    • Have published at least five articles in refereed journals

    For creative arts:
    Film and Video: 
    Must have a body of independent work of significant achievement. Such work will typically have been exhibited in galleries or museums, shown in film or video festivals, or broadcast on television.

    Visual Arts: 
    Must show strong evidence of achievement, with a record of at least five years of work as a professional artist, including participation in several curated group shows and at least two professional solo exhibitions.

    Fiction and Non-fiction:

    • Must have one or more published books;
    • a contract for the publication of a book-length manuscript; or
    • at least three shorter works (longer than newspaper articles) published

    Poetry: 
    Must have had at least 20 poems or a book of poetry published in the last five years and should be in the process of completing a manuscript

    Journalism: 
    Must have worked professionally as a journalist for at least five years.

    Playwriting: 
    Must have significant work with produced or optioned plays.

    Music Composition: 
    Must show strong evidence of achievement as a professional artist, with a record of recent performances. It is desirable, but not mandatory, for applicants in music composition to have a PhD or DMA.

    What are the benefits ?

    The selected candidates will receive:

    • A stipend of $78,000 (approx. ₹68,24,248)
    • $5,000 (approx. ₹4,37,550) to cover project expenses
    • Relocation, housing, and childcare funds
    • Hourly wages for hiring undergraduate research partners
