    What is Jacobs Foundation Research Fellowships 2022?

    Jacobs Foundation Research Fellowships 2022 is an initiative for Ph.d. or equivalent degree holders. The fellowship program for early and mid-career researchers whose work is dedicated to improving the learning and development of children and youth worldwide. The selected fellows will receive CHF 150’000.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Be an early career researcher
    • Have obtained a Ph.D. or equivalent degree within the past 10 years
    • Be employed at an institution of higher education or research institute
    • Be conducting high-quality research in an area of interest to the Jacobs Foundation
    • Be committed to engaging with the Jacobs Foundation and the Fellowship Network and contributing to the Foundation’s activities

    What are the benefits ?

    The selected fellows will receive CHF 150’000.

    Note - 

    • Up to 50% of the grant amount will be used to cover the fellow's salary. 
    • Up to 10% of the total amount of funding (i.e. CHF 15’000) in addition to the basic grant will be used indirect costs.

    Step 5: Applications must be completed by January 16, 2022, 23.59 CET. After this time, the application form will automatically close.

     

    What are the documents required for the Jacobs Foundation Research Fellowships 2022?

    • Academic transcripts
    • Research proposal
    • Three additional documents must be submitted in connection with the application form - Curriculum vitae, including a list of the candidate’s scientific publications, a published scientific paper by the candidate, and a 1-page recommendation letter from a senior researcher, within or outside of the candidate's department, supporting the candidate and describing his/her qualifications, initiative, and research. 

     

    Note - The recommendation letter should be sent separately to the Jacobs Foundation through email at - fellowship@jacobsfoundation.org. 

    What are the selection criteria ?

    The following selection criteria are weighted equally:

    • Past research accomplishments and publication record
    • Creativity and potential for serving as a leader in the scientific community
    • Scientific quality of methods and data
    • The international relevance of the fellow’s planned work
    • Potential for promoting human development and learning
    • Alignment of planned projects with the goals of the Jacobs Foundation
    • Willingness to support the Foundation’s aims and to engage with the foundation
