    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:-

    • be a full-time journalist, whether on staff or freelance
    • have at least three consecutive years of experience covering science, health, technology, and environmental reporting
    • be a reporter, writer, editor, producer, illustrator, filmmaker, or photojournalist working for newspapers, magazines, television, radio, or digital media
    • not have completed a fellowship of four months or longer during the two years before applying

    Note:-

    • International candidates are encouraged to apply. Selected international fellows must obtain a valid J-1 visa (and J-2 visas for dependents) from the U.S. State Department, sponsored by MIT through the International Scholars Office.
    • Part-time writers or producers are not eligible in the freelance category.
