MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation) 2022

MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation) 2022 is an initiative for the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to financially support UG applicants who wish to pursue their studies at Asia Pacific University (APU). This scholarship is awarded to outstanding international students who are recommended by APU. The selected scholars will receive a full admission fee and other benefits. 

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is offering this scholarship and tuition fee waiver of offered under APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship. 

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

• be born on or after 2nd April 1988
• be a national of an Indian or any MEXT designated country
• intend to study abroad in Japan from overseas
• have secured a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at their most recent university

The selected scholars will receive the following awards - 

• Full admission fee
• 100% of the tuition fee 
• JPY 144,000 per month for living expenses (amount subject to change)
• Economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now’ button and read the details carefully.
Step 2: Navigate to 'How to Apply/Login' on the right side of the dashboard.
Step 3: Navigate to 'Create Account' below the page.
Step 4: Fill in the details to apply for a course at APU.
Step 5: Pay the online fees and complete the online assessment.
Step 6: The candidates will be recommended by APU for the scholarship.

The candidates will be selected by the MEXT.

Last Date of Application - 16th November 2022 (for September 2023 Enrollment)

• Applicants selected to be recommended for this scholarship are notified of their final APU application results.
• The final scholarship award results are decided by MEXT.
• Those who are serving on active military duty or civilians employed by the military at the time of application are not eligible for this scholarship.
• The recipients must be able to arrive in Japan during the arrival period stipulated by APU.
• The recipients of this scholarship cannot receive a scholarship from another scholarship organization while studying at APU.
• The recipients of this scholarship must have "student" as their status of residence (visa status) in Japan.
