    What is Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarship (OCSI), UK 2024?

    Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarship (OCSI), UK 2024 is an opportunity offered by the OCSI* for Indian students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or research programs at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge for the 2024-2025 academic year. A total of three scholarships of up to ₹4,00,000 will be awarded to selected students.

    Who is offering this scholarship ?

    This scholarship is being offered by the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI).

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:- 

    • be a citizen of India and ordinarily residing in India
    • be below 30 years old by 1st September of the application year
    • be a graduate of an accredited Indian university for a second undergraduate or postgraduate course (applicants graduating in the year of the award are also eligible) OR
    • be from a school in India for an undergraduate course
    • have applied for and secured admission to a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford
    • intend to pursue a course of study that falls into one of the following categories:
      • Research leading to the Ph.D. degree
      • One-year postgraduate courses such as M.Phil., LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.
      • Taught and research-based master's programmes of various durations including M.Sc., Engineering, Medicine degree
      • Second bachelor's degree as an affiliated student/senior status
      • Bachelor's degree programme
    • be admitted to the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford through the universities' normal application procedures

     

    Note:- 

    • Candidates are required to submit proof of admission before the scholarship is awarded and proof of residence at Cambridge or Oxford before the scholarship funds are disbursed.
    • OCSI doesn't guarantee admission or assist with the application process.

    What are the benefits ?

    Selected candidates will  receive the following benefits under three categories, tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford:-

    • OCSI K.K. Luthra Memorial Scholarship: ₹3,00,000 
    • OCSI Anita Banerji Memorial Scholarship: ₹4,00,000
    • OCSI Nirmal Luthra Memorial Scholarship: ₹4,00,000

    How can you apply ?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the steps mentioned below:-
    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
    Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
    Step 3: Navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' at the top of the dashboard and click on it.
    Step 4: Now click on 'If not already registered, please click here' and fill in the required details to 'Register'. 
    Step 5: After successful registration, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

    What are the documents required for the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarship (OCSI), UK 2024?

    • Marksheet of the previous qualifying examination
    • Resident proof (if applicable)
    • PwD certificate (if applicable)

    What are the selection criteria ?

    Candidates will be evaluated based on the following three broad dimensions:

    • Soft skills include presentation skills, clarity of thought and presentation, demeanour, and confidence.
    • Hard skills include unique proposition in the field of study, impact on society in general, likely impact on India, consistent academic performance and extra-curricular activities.
    • Financial means: Candidates may be requested to provide details of their financial resources with supporting documents. Shortlisted candidates will be notified of this requirement. (Note:- Financial need is not the primary criterion, it will only be considered during the scholarship selection process.)

    Those invited to interview for the scholarships will be expected to demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Typically, this includes being ranked by Cambridge or Oxford departments as among the most academically outstanding applicants in a given year.

    Terms and Conditions

    • In addition to requiring graduation from an Indian university, the OCSI scholarship program also prioritises candidates who completed their final years of schooling in India. 
    • Candidates who have already received full financial support from other sources are ineligible to apply. If a candidate receives such support after being selected for the OCSI scholarship, they are required to inform the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India. This will allow the scholarship to be offered to the next qualified candidate.
    • OCSI scholars are also expected to return to India in a reasonable time frame after completing their course of study at Cambridge or Oxford.
