    What is Robert Gordon University GREAT Scholarships 2025?

    Robert Gordon University GREAT Scholarships 2025 is an opportunity offered by Robert Gordon University in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign. This scholarship aims to support the education of students from India, Bangladesh and Nigeria who aspire to pursue one-year postgraduate courses at the university. A minimum award of £10,000 for a year of study will be awarded to one student from each country.

    The GREAT Scholarships 2025 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:-

    • be a citizen of India, Bangladesh and Nigeria
    • hold an offer from Robert Gordon University for a full-time, on-campus, postgraduate course starting in September 2025
    • be classed by the university as an international fee payer for tuition fee payment
    • have an undergraduate degree that qualifies for entry into a postgraduate program at a UK university


    Additional eligibility requirements include:-

    • be motivated and academically able to follow and benefit from a UK postgraduate taught course
    • demonstrate active engagement in the field, either through relevant work experience or a proven interest in the proposed subject area
    • meet the English language requirement of the UK Higher Education Institution
    • be willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI
    • be willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
    • represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships.
    • be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK

    What are the benefits ?

    The selected scholars will receive £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year master’s programme, awarded to one student from each country.

    What are the selection criteria ?

    The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, fulfillment of eligibility criteria, and the information provided in the application, including the response to the following questions in not more than 200 words:-

    Question 1 - Explain why you have chosen to study at Robert Gordon University and how you would act as an ambassador for the university.

    Question 2 - Tell us of any personal or professional experiences which demonstrate your enthusiasm for your chosen subject matter.  

    Question 3 - Tell us what your future career ambitions are and how this scholarship would support them.

    Terms and Conditions

    • University scholarships, financial awards, and discounts will be awarded upon enrolment at the university.
    • Discounts will be awarded at the discretion of the university.
    • The most beneficial individual award for each student, the higher the sum of the financial award, scholarship or discount, will be applied. Only one award can be held per offer.
    • RGU scholarships and awards are for self-funding students only.
