SOAS London - Shapoorji Pallonji Scholarship for PG Students 2025-26

SOAS London - Shapoorji Pallonji Scholarship for PG Students 2025-26 is an opportunity provided by the SOAS University of London to students pursuing a Master’s in Zoroastrian studies at SOAS. The scholarship aims to financially assist students who have a multidisciplinary approach towards Zoroastrianism for example, historical, linguistic, anthropological, etc. The selected candidates will receive a monetary contribution towards their fees and cost of living.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be an international or EU/UK fee-paying students
• have or expect an Honours degree from a UK university or an international equivalent for an MA programme
• have applied to SOAS to pursue a Master’s in Iranian Studies, Religion, Politics and Society, South Asian Area Studies, or Middle Eastern Studies. (Note:- Applicants do not need an offer of admission by the scholarship deadline)
• meet the English language conditions for the programme they have applied for. If required, they should arrange their English test and meet the requirements promptly.

Note:-

• Applicants with a First-Class Honours degree shall be preferred.
• Non-UK degree holders must provide evidence of top-ranking performance through transcripts and references.
• An applicant shall possess an unconditional admission offer before the final scholarship decisions are made.
   

The selected candidates will receive financial support for their fees and cost of living.

Step 3: Scroll down and navigate to the ‘Scholarship application procedures’ section. 
Step 4: Navigate to the ‘Apply for the scholarship’ section and click the ‘Online Application Form’ link.
Step 5: Fill in all the mentioned details and click on the ‘Next’ button.
Step 6: Upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.

• Interim transcripts (if applicants are currently pursuing a course)
• Academic certificates (if the degree is complete)
• Certified English translations in addition to the original documents shall be submitted in case the documents are in any other language other than English. 
• Proof of applicant’s level of English language.

• A copy of the identity page of the passport
• Supporting statement (approximately 1000 words) explaining the significance of the chosen programme of study and the motivation behind it.

Note:- 

• The colour scans of the degree transcripts should be submitted.
• The supporting statement shall be written by the applicants in their own words.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their academic merit and personal statement.

• This scholarship does not fund the pre-sessional courses.
• Scholarship awardees are required to complete a 60-credit dissertation on Zoroastrianism and a 30-credit module, "Zoroastrianism, Historical and Contemporary Perspectives."  They may also choose to take an additional 30-credit language module.
• SOAS will only sponsor full-time studies of international students.
• SOAS usually processes a complete application within 4 weeks. However, they contact the applicants via email in case there is a need of additional information.
• Applicants can apply for and hold only one SOAS postgraduate program per year. Though they can list a second-choice program, they will be considered for their first choice initially. Their second choice is considered only if they are not admitted to their first or if they change their mind.
