The Next Genius Scholarship Program 2021-22

The Next Genius Scholarship Program 2021-22 is an initiative of the Next Genius Foundation, a charitable trust in India, helping outstanding Indian high school students to pursue their undergraduate education in the United States. Next Genius Scholarship covers four years of education in the students' preferred subjects in US-based colleges. In 2021-22, this program hopes to award over USD 10 million worth of study abroad scholarships to more than 100 students. For the scholarship winners, 75% or more tuition fees will be waived for only 4 years of UG education. 

The scholarship is offered by the Next Genius Foundation, a registered charitable trust in India with a vision to identify world changers, and connect them with outstanding educational and career opportunities.
 

The scholarship is open to candidates who are: 

• Indian Citizens residing in India or abroad, or OCI cardholders, or Foreign nationals residing in India 
• Studying in Class 12, or have just passed Class 12 (Gap Year)

Selected scholars will receive partial tuition fee waiver or 75% or more tuition fee waiver to study any 4-year undergraduate course at one of the following universities in the US:

5. Juniata College, Pennsylvania
6. Knox College, Illinois
7. Lewis and Clark College, Portland
8. Lynn University, Florida

10. Muhlenberg College, Pennsylvania
11. Northwestern University in Qatar, Doha
12. Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware
13. Syracuse University, New York
14. Texas Christian University, Texas
15. The University of the South, Tennessee
16. Transylvania University, Kentucky
17. Trinity College, Connecticut
18. Union College, New York
19. Wentworth Institute of Technology, Massachusetts
20. Wheaton College, Massachusetts

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Pay INR 500 registration fees.
Step 3: Upon making the payment, the Instamojo ID will be emailed to the candidate's email ID.  
Step 4: Fill in the asked details present in the Google Form.
Step 5: Submit the registration form using the Instamojo Payment ID.

Following attributes will be looked for in the prospective scholars:

• Critical Thinking Ability - Strong creative problem-solving skills, both in academic and non-academic settings
• Soft Skills - Strong team playing and communication skills. Positive attitude, charisma & leadership skill.
• Personal Vision - Desire to be an active member of the Next Genius community and give back to society; Strong desire to study abroad at one of the partner colleges. 
• Need Aware - Ability to pay for living costs at college for a duration of 4 years (up to INR 10 Lac per year towards housing, food, insurance, flights, books)

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection for the registered candidates is done in the following four stages:

Stage 1: In the first stage, candidates will need to take an 'Online Critical Thinking Test'. Top performers in the assessment are selected for the next level.

Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates are provided detailed information about the various scholarships and invited to identify college and course of preference.

Stage 3: Shortlisted students will be provided with an application fee waiver for the respective colleges and asked to submit the completed application form.

Stage 4: Shortlisted students who have submitted their full college application will be invited to attend a group interview with The Next Genius Foundation and the college admission officer.

• Registration Open - 1st June 2021
• Registration & Online Level 1 Test Deadline - 12th October 2021
• College Application Submission Deadline - 1st January 2022
• Scholarship Interview & Awards - 21st and 22nd January 2022
• Scholarship Acceptance Deadline - 1st May 2022

• The candidates must have the ability to pay for living costs at college for a duration of 4 years (up to INR 10 Lakh per year towards housing, food, insurance, flights, books).
• After registering, the candidates are required to take the Next Genius Online Level 1 Critical Thinking Assessment before October 12, 2021. It is recommended to take the test within 72 hours of registering. 
• The online assessment measures the ability to read effectively, reason, analyze data and solve puzzles. This test can be taken from home, school or even a cybercafe. Students will need a system (laptop/desktop) with a good internet connection and a functional webcam.
• The test consists of 18 multiple choice questions with just one correct answer and will last 1 hour. The questions are divided into three sections with 6 questions per section. The three sections are: Logical Inquiry, Functional Literacy, Data Analysis.
