Tiara Foundation Special Grant 2019

Tiara Foundation invites applications for Tiara Foundation Special Grant 2019 from students who hold an offer of a place to pursue post-graduate studies at university overseas with a fee waiver/scholarship and teaching assistantship to finance their studies. The grant aims to reward the students who have the potential to be of consequence to others around them in later years. 

The grant is being offered by Tiara Foundation. It is a charitable trust that aims to help educational institutions, humanitarian charities and students by offering encouragement, grants and other forms of tailored support. 

To be eligible, an applicant must -

• Be a resident in India or an Indian citizen
• Have a consistent academic record with a first class in Science and Economics stream and at least 55% marks in Humanities
• Be less than 25 years of age
• Have an offer of acceptance from a reputed University overseas for a graduate studies programme with full financial support
• Be proficient in English and at least one Indian language
• Show excellence in non-trivial extra-curricular activities

Note: The financial support can be in the form of tuition waiver, research assistantship and/or committed teaching. 

• For students getting admission at US colleges, the grant amount is USD 3,500. 
• For students getting admission UK colleges, the grant amount is GBP 2,200.

Eligible candidates can apply for the grant through following steps -
Step 1: Visit the official notification page of the grant.
Step 2: Click on the 'Download Application Form' button. 
Step 3: Fill all relevant information in the application form. 
Step 4: Scan the duly filled application form along with other supporting documents. 
Step 5: Email the completed application to tiaraeducation@gmail.com. 

• A brief resume of the applicant in a single page
• Two recommendations from members of faculty
• Transcript of marks
• A statement of purpose in one page
• Evidence of excellence in non-trivial extra-curricular activities
• Letter of acceptance from a university overseas for admission to post-graduate study in the academic year 2019-20
• Passport-sized photograph of the applicant
• Proof of full financial support

The selection procedure for the grant involves two stages -

• Initial evaluation of the applications and documents submitted
• The shortlisted  candidates are then called for a personal interview by the Scholarship Committee in New Delhi

The final selection of candidates is made by the Scholarship Committee on the basis of their performance in the interview. 

Application deadline for US colleges: 15 July 2019
Application deadline for UK colleges: 31 July 2019

• Students will get their scholarship amount in their newly opened bank account in abroad, post beginning of their academic session.
• The successful applicants will be notified by the Scholarship Committee.
• Shortlisted candidates from outside New Delhi will be reimbursed a 3 Tier AC fare if they submit a copy of the ticket.
• The documents should be sent in low-resolution PDF format.
