University of Sydney James Murphy Scholarship 2022

University of Sydney James Murphy Scholarship 2022 is an initiative for undergraduate applicants. The aim of this scholarship is to support the students undertaking studies in agriculture who identify, or have parents who identify, as Catholic. The selected students will receive AUD 7,500.

The University of Sydney is offering this scholarship.

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

• Be enrolled in or starting one of the following courses -
  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Agriculture)
  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Food and Agribusiness)
  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture 
  • Bachelor of Food and Agribusiness
• Demonstrate financial need
• Identify, or have parents who identify as Catholic

The selected scholars will receive AUD 7,500 per annum and is tenable for one year only.

• Academic transcript(s)
• Supporting documents providing evidence of financial need and other relevant hardship
• A letter from a parish priest confirming applicant as Catholic

The selection will be based on academic merit, supporting documents, personal statement, and confirmation letter for the Parish priest.

Application Start Date: 9th June 2021
Application Deadline: 23rd January 2022

• The scholarship annual value will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
• The scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
• To continue receipt of the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 60 each semester.
• Recipients undertaking an exchange during the tenure of this scholarship are required to have achieved a Satisfied Requirements grade (SR) to receive their next payment.
• Deferral of the scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Dean of the Faculty of Science or their nominee, and it is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university with prior approval.
