The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) invites applications for UTS International Research Scholarship 2020-21 from international students enrolling in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at UTS. The goal of this scholarship is to attract outstanding students to conduct quality research at the university. Selected students will receive up to full tuition fee waiver for up to three years.

Who can apply for this scholarship ?
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth)
- Purchase and maintain a standard OSHC policy approved by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing
- Commence full-time study in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at UTS;
- Be pursuing study in a subject area identified by the University as one of its areas of research concentration
- Not hold a research qualification regarded by the University to be equivalent to an Australian research doctorate degree or, if undertaking a research master's degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the provider to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian research master's degree
- Not be a holder of Australian Agency for International Development scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the UTS IRS
- Not be receiving a scholarship for which the course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution
- Not have received a UTS IRS for a research doctorate degree, unless converting to a research master's degree
- Not previously have received a UTS IRS for a research master's degree

What are the benefits ?
The selected scholars will receive a tuition fee waiver as per the selected course program for up to 3 years.
How can you apply ?
Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship by following the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button and read all details.
Step 2: Download the application form.
Step 3: Fill in all the necessary details in the application form. The new research students need to tick the 'YES' box in the 'SCHOLARSHIP/SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION' section of the course application and submit the admission form.

Application start date: 1st January 2020
Application deadline: 30th June 2020
Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship for a full-time research doctorate degree is tenable for three years whereas the scholarship for a full-time research masters degree is tenable for two years.
- The scholarship only covers the reduction on estimated annual fees of the two years master’s degree or three years doctoral degree.
- Students are required to maintain satisfactory progress to continue with the scholarship.
- University reserves the right to suspend the scholarship.
- In case the IRS is awarded for strategic reasons, the maximum duration of the scholarship may be reduced.
