Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2021

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2021 is an opportunity for meritorious students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in Social Science, Natural Science, Humanities, Medical, and Engineering. The selected candidates will be motivated through this scholarship to pursue a doctoral degree. The students will receive a benefit of CAD 50,000 per year for up to three years.

The University of British Columbia is offering this scholarship.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be nominated by a Canadian University for doctoral study
• Not have completed more than 20 months of full-time study in their doctoral program as of May 1, 2022
• Have secured a first-class aggregate in each of the last two years of full-time study or equivalent 
• Be a permanent resident of Canada, a Canadian citizen, or an International student
• Not hold Tri-Agency Tri-Agency scholarship funding for the doctoral program

The selected scholars will receive CAD 50,000 per year for up to three years.

• 2 pages of personal leadership statement
• 2 Leadership letters of reference
• A research proposal

Applications will be selected on the basis of academic excellence, research potential and leadership abilities.

• Successful candidates must be nominated by their institution in which they are willing to pursue doctoral study. To be considered for a Vanier CGS, a student must be nominated by only one Canadian university
• Applications must be submitted in either English or French.
