DETermined scholarship 2025

The DETermined Scholarship 2025 is a prestigious opportunity for Indian women in STEM, launched by the Duolingo English Test (DET) in partnership with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. This scholarship aims to support talented women pursuing full-time STEM degrees at U.S. universities that accept DET scores. Selected candidate will receive USD 30,000 (approximately ₹25 lakh) towards tuition fees.

This scholarship is being offered by Duolingo, in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be a female holding Indian citizenship and currently residing in India
• showcase a strong academic record (minimum 60% in science subjects) from an accredited Indian institution
• hold a Duolingo English Test (DET) score of 120 or higher
• enrol in a full-time STEM program (UG or PG) at a U.S. university, starting Spring 2026
• display strong leadership skills, innovation in STEM, and a commitment to addressing societal issues
• intend to return to India and demonstrate the potential to transform innovative ideas into a viable startup

Note:- Applicants must enrol at an institution that accepts the DET for admission.

Selected candidates will receive:-

• USD 30,000 (approximately ₹25 lakh) towards tuition fees.
• Mentorship from STEM experts to support academic and career growth.
• Opportunity to study at a top U.S. university and contribute to STEM innovation.

Selection process involves three stages:

• Preliminary screening of applications based on eligibility criteria and merits of the SOP.
• STEM Impact Proposal Challenge where candidates will provide innovative solutions to address pressing global issues in STEM.
• A final virtual interview with the jury.
