To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- have been awarded a doctorate at the time of application, normally within the last three years (i.e. graduated between 2023 and 2026).
- provide a transcript, testamur, or a letter of completion/eligibility to graduate if not yet formally graduated at the time of application.
- not have held a permanent position at a university.
- not have previously held a Fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities.
- be applying with a research topic in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
What are the benefits ?
The selected candidates shall receive:
- Research stay at the University of Edinburgh for a duration of three to ten months.
- Bursary of up to £20,000.

- Guidance from a University mentor aligned with the Fellow’s research interests.
- Participation in weekly Fellows’ Lunches to foster community and networking.
- Opportunity to present and refine work in progress through seminar series.

- Possibility to organize and contribute to funded workshops, colloquia, and related events.
