    The Department of Chemical Engineering at the Imperial College London invites applications from Master's degree (or equivalent) holders in Chemical Engineering or a related field to apply for Ph.D. scholarships. A total of 10 outstanding Ph.D. applicants will be considered for these Ph.D. scholarships that offer financial support to meritorious candidates for a duration of 42 months. The scholarship recipients will benefit from full coverage of tuition fees along with a grant for maintenance.

    What are the documents required for the Imperial College PhD Scholarship In Chemical Engineering 2020-21?

    What are the selection criteria ?

    • The selection panel will shortlist the applicants based on the demonstration of necessary achievement and potential
    • The shortlisted candidates successful in their interviews will be sent a list of available projects and supervisors.
    • They will be asked to select 2 projects offered by different supervisors in the order of their choice.
    • The first choice supervisors will then be contacted by the Department to ask if they are happy to take the candidate under the scholarship scheme.
    • In case there is more than one successful candidate who wants to work with the same supervisor, the supervisor will be asked to choose the candidate most suited to the project.
    • In the case of non-selection by the first choice supervisor, the second choice supervisor will be contacted.
    • The department will select the most outstanding candidates who fit the eligibility criteria.

    Terms and Conditions

    • The majority of scholarships are likely to be allocated in Round 1. So, it is suggested to submit the Ph.D. applications before the Round 1 deadline (30 April).
    • Due to high competition for the scholarship, it is possible that many academically good candidates might not get selected.
    • The scholarship interview will last for 20 minutes and will be through Skype video call (or in-person interview if the candidate is based in or near London).
    • All the applications will be screened within 6 weeks.
    • Up to 10 scholarships will be offered to candidates.
