MTCP Scholarship 2025

The MTCP Scholarship 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Malaysian government to international students from developing countries pursuing postgraduate studies in Malaysia. The selected candidates will receive a monthly allowance of RM 3,500 (approx. ₹70,000) and other benefits.

The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme is offering this opportunity.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be an international student from the MTCP recipient countries
• be less than 45 years old on the date of application
• have scored at least second class upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent at the undergraduate level
• have an IELTS overall score of 6.0 or above, or a TOEFL iBT total score of 60 or above, or a previous degree(s) with English used as the medium of instruction

The selected candidates will receive:-

• A scholarship covering tuition fees and other allowances worth RM3,500 per month (approx. ₹70,000) 
• Return economy-class airline ticket

The applicants will be selected based on their academic and extracurricular achievements. Alongside, excellent English communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking are also considered.

• Students pursuing nursing, medicine and clinical pharmacy courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
• The following courses are prioritised:
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Cyber Security
  • Digital Transformation
  • Economy
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Food Security
  • Islamic Finance
  • Law
  • Public Administration and Policy Studies and
  • Sustainable and Environmental Science
• Recipients must pursue a full-time Master's Degree program in Malaysia for the duration specified in their Scholarship Offer Letter.  Students cannot change their program during the scholarship tenure without written permission from both the university and the MTCP Secretariat.
• Suspension from the university will result in immediate suspension of the award. Monthly allowances are not payable during the suspension.
• Recipients are not permitted to undertake any paid employment during their scholarship tenure without written approval from both the host university and the MTCP Secretariat.
• They must maintain satisfactory academic progress and good standing throughout their studies as stipulated by their host university; failure to do so will result in the scholarship's withdrawal.
