NIAS Safe Haven Fellowship 2026

The NIAS Safe Haven Fellowship 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS) to international students with a PhD degree. The selected students will receive a stipend of €3,500 (₹3,62,677 approx) per month.

The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS) is offering this opportunity.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• have at least three years of research experience since obtaining a doctorate if submitting a scientific proposal, as of the application date
• not be required to have a PhD or three years of research experience if submitting an artistic or journalistic research proposal
• ensure the project proposal fits within the scope of humanities and/or social sciences
• have a good command of English, as it is the working language at NIAS, enabling effective contribution and receiving input on research from the fellows group

The selected candidates will receive:

• Stipend of €3,500 (₹3,62,677 approx) per month
• Travel reimbursement up to a maximum of €1.500
