    What is The Einstein Fellowship 2026?

    The Einstein Fellowship 2026 is a joint initiative by the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation for outstanding young thinkers pursuing projects in a field different from their previous research. It aims to support those interested in producing outstanding work in their area of specialisation and interdisciplinary approaches, following the example set by Albert Einstein. Selected fellows will receive a stipend of EUR 10,000 and other benefits.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, the applicant must:-

    • be under 35 years of age
    • be outstanding young thinkers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research
    • hold a university degree in humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences

    What are the benefits ?

    The selected fellow will receive:-

    • A stipend of EUR 10,000
    • Reimbursement of travel expenses
    • Living accommodation for 5-6 months in the garden cottage of Einstein's summerhouse in Caputh, Brandenburg

    Terms and Conditions

    • No fellowships will be given for dissertation research.
    • It is not relevant whether the applicant has begun working toward, or currently holds, a PhD. The proposed project need not be entirely completed during the time of the fellowship but can be the beginning of a longer project.
    • At the end of the fellowship period, the fellow will be expected to present his or her project in a public lecture at the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation.
    • The Einstein Fellowship is not intended for applicants who wish to complete an academic study they have already begun.
    • The proposed project must be significantly projecting different in content and preferably field and form, from the applicant's previous work.
