University of Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship (AGES) 2020-21

The University of Alberta invites applications for the University of Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship (AGES) 2020-21 from outstanding students studying graduate courses in Alberta. The aim of this scholarship is to recognize the brightest students and support them in their studies in Alberta. Under this scholarship, CAD 12,000 will be awarded to the recipients as one-time payment.

University of Alberta is offering this scholarship.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be a Canadian student; Permanent Resident of Canada or an international student
• Be living in Alberta at the time of applying and have a current Alberta mailing address in Bear Tracks
• Have a GPA of 3.5 or more over the most recent 15 units of course in the current program (for current students)
• Be registered full-time in Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 terms
• Be registered in years 1-4 of the master’s program or years 1-6 of the doctoral program during the tenure of the scholarship

An award of CAD 12,000 will be awarded to the recipients as one-time payment.

Step3: Submit the declaration form to the home department.

Note: Applicants cannot apply directly on GSMS online portal instead they need to be nominated to FGSR by their home department. Applicants should consult with their home department about the internal deadlines of submission.

Home departments will send the AGES nominees list to the FGSR through GSMS Awards Portal. The FGSR will select the candidates based on the criteria as decided by the selection committee.

Application deadline: 30th October 2020

• Students registered in a graduate certificate that can ladder into a Master’s degree program are also eligible for this scholarship.
• One recipient is entitled to only one Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship in a year.
• January 2020 admit students must be registered full-time in Winter 2020 term.
• Qualifying students, students on academic probation, and students registered in cost-recovery programs are not eligible for this scholarship.
