The University of Hamburg Merit Scholarship 2026 is an opportunity offered by the University of Hamburg to students pursuing a degree at the Universität Hamburg for at least 2 semesters. The selected candidates shall receive a monthly scholarship of up to €992 for a maximum period of 2 years.

The University of Hamburg is offering this opportunity. 

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• have been enrolled in a degree program at Universität Hamburg for at least two semesters
• be a student in a 2-year master’s program who has completed at least one semester (if applicable)
• not be a doctoral researcher
• not hold German citizenship
• not be eligible for the German federal student loan scheme (BAföG) under Section 8 of the Federal Training Assistance Act

The selected candidates shall receive a monthly scholarship of up to €992.

• Master’s degree students must submit the following documents:
• The most recent degree certificate with grades, issued in English or German.
• Either the STiNE printout of the “Leistungskonto” or a current transcript of records.
• Evaluations from 2 full-time teaching staff members
• Proof of subject-related additional achievements and academic awards
• Residence permit of Non-EU citizen

The scholars are selected based on their eligibility and academic merit.
