Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships 2025-26 is an opportunity provided by Newcastle University to students pursuing selected master’s degree programs at the university. The scholarship aims to financially assist outstanding students in completing their studies. The selected candidates will receive up to 50% waiver on tuition fees.

Who can apply for this scholarship ?
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian national
- be assessed as an international student for fee purposes
- have or expect to have the equivalent of an upper second-class UK honours degree or above
- hold an offer for an eligible master’s degree program at the university’s city centre campus for the year 2025-26
Note:-
- Applicants must be assessed and receive an admission offer before they can apply.
- The following are ineligible to apply:
- MPhil, MLitt, Doctoral (e.g. PhD, Integrated PhD, DClinPsych) applicants
- Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma applicants
- Online (E-learning) degree programme applicants
- Undergraduate degree programme applicants
- Dual Award degree applicants
- Current students registered at the University, who have already commenced their postgraduate degree at the time of the award
- Students repeating courses
- Study abroad and exchange students
- Universitas Indonesia students studying in the Faculty of Medical Sciences
What are the benefits ?
The selected candidate will receive a 50% waiver on tuition fees for the full duration of their master’s program.
Note:- The award will be credited to the candidate’s tuition fee account.

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘How To Apply’ section and click ‘Apply to Newcastle Portal’.
Step 4: Click ‘Register as a New Applicant’ and fill in the required details, then click ‘Register’.
Step 5: Confirm the provided email address and click on the registration link to complete the profile.
Step 6: Click ‘Create Application’ and select the postgraduate option.
Step 7: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

What are the selection criteria ?
A total of 30 candidates will be selected based on merit and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship is renewable subject to academic performance.
- The award for a particular year cannot be deferred in that year itself.
- Candidates must inform the university of any other funding which they might receive during the scholarship tenure.
- Applicants initially assessed as international for fee purposes but whose fees change to “home” are not eligible to receive Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship awards and will have any offer made withdrawn.
- Applicants funded by one of the following organisations are ineligible:
- FUNDACION MEXICANA PARA LA EDUCACION, LA TECNOLOGIA y LA CIENCIA, A.C. (FUNED)
- Foundation BECA
- Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACYT)
- COLFUTURO
