Victoria Doctoral Scholarships 2020

Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand invites applications for Victoria Doctoral Scholarships 2020 from graduate students who wish to enrol in a full-time PhD programme at Victoria. The aim of this scholarship is to encourage and support doctoral study (PhD) at Victoria University of Wellington. The selected scholars will receive a stipend of NZD 23,500 per annum and domestic tuition fees for up to three years.

Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand is offering this scholarship.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be a graduate or postgraduate
• Intend to enrol for a full-time doctorate (PhD), OR
• Have commenced Doctoral study at Victoria University of Wellington

• A stipend of NZD 23,500 per annum for up to three years
• Domestic tuition fees for up to three years

Follow the steps below to apply for the scholarship:

Step 1: Click on the online application link.
Step 2: Click on 'Apply' and 'Create New Account'.
Step 3: Login using registered email id and password and provide the required details in the application.
Step 4: Select the academic referees and send them the request.
Step 5: Provide an academic writing sample.
Step 6: Upload the necessary documents.
Step 7: Submit the application. 

• A 2000-word sample of academic writing in English
• Certified copies of academic transcript/s
• Degree certificates
• A certified copy of Diploma Supplement (applicants from EU countries only)
• Evidence of English Language Proficiency (for international students)

Note: Translations of official documents (certified by an accredited translator) are required to be submitted by international students

Victoria Research Scholarships Committee will assess the applications for final selection. An email will be sent to the successful candidates offering them a place at Victoria University of Wellington.

Application deadline: 1st November 2020

• Tuition fees will be paid on upon registration by the Scholarships office.
• The recipients must complete six monthly reports outlining their progress to date and ensure that copies of these reports are available to the Scholarships Office.
• Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment and devote themselves to the study program.
• Recipients must not hold the position of emolument.
• The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards.
• The scholarship recipients need to act as Ambassadors of Victoria University and participate in appropriate events or marketing (if requested)
