    What is Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research (WISER) 2025?

    Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research (WISER) 2025 is an opportunity offered jointly by the Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC)*. The program aims to retain and promote female researchers in the STEM field. The selected candidates will receive a grant of up to ₹39 Lakhs and other benefits.

    *The Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) is established by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Government of Germany.

    Who can apply for this scholarship ?

    To be eligible, an applicant must:-

    • be a female citizen of India or Germany
    • hold regular/long-term research positions in academia or research institutes/industry

    Note:- There is no age limit for this opportunity.

    What are the benefits ?

    Selected Indian fellows will receive:-

    • ₹1,00,000 (approx) for travel, visa, and insurance fee
    • Up to ₹12,00,000 per year towards project cost including research staff, consumables, contingency and an allowance of EUR 2300 per month in Germany.

    Note:- Selected candidates will receive the benefits for up to 3 years.

    What are the documents required for the Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research (WISER) 2025?

    • No Objection Certificate (NOC)/Endorsement letter from the head of the institution(present organisation)
    • Endorsement/consent letter from the Indian/German pairing collaborator

    What are the selection criteria ?

    A Joint Committee will evaluate applications based on merit and eligibility requirements, considering the qualifications of female researchers, project viability, STEM relevance, scope, content, proposal quality, anticipated results, and future potential. The Committee's decision will be regarded as final and legally binding.
